After releasing a promising debut record on Aaron Turner’s (ISIS, Sumac) SIGE Records imprint, Seattle’s dark and cinematic outfit Nordra brings their post-doomsday drones and martial beats to Bratislava for the first time. The Julinko from Italian Treviso joins the party bringing her haunting songs from her brand new drone-folker Ash Ark.

Nordra is the solo project of Monika Khot (of Zen Mother) that comprises analog drum machines, homemade effects, processed trumpet, guitar, and vocals. Horns of impending doom, militant industrial beats, and ambient beauty comprise the sound of Nordra. As a new artist on SIGE Records(Faith Coloccia and Aaron Turner’s post-Hydra Head label), she recently came off a tour with experimental metal band SUMAC (trio of ISIS/Old Man Gloom, Russian Circles, and Baptists) which indicate her sound emits the doom and dread of metal even though it lacks the traditional instrumentation of a metal outfit. As a composer of film and dance, Nordra is cinematic in nature and her creations are heavily involved in invoking of emotions that deal with fear, torment, hopefulness, and despair.
